Good production of Amla has been taking place in Alwar district in the last 3 years. According to the Horticulture Department, now gooseberry is being cultivated in 60 hectares in the district. After Corona, in the last 3 years the area of ​​gooseberry in Alwar district has increased by 40 hectares. In which Chakaiya variety of Amla is the most prominent. Amla is being produced in abundance in Behror and Neemrana areas of the district.

Assistant Director of Horticulture Department, Leelaram Jat said that for the last 3 years, farmers in Alwar district contacted the Horticulture Department and collected information about Amla. After this, farmers in the district produced gooseberry in about 30 hectares. Due to increase in production, Chakaiya variety of Amla of Alwar district is now in demand in big states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat. Due to this, the farmers of Alwar are also getting good profits. Leelaram Jat told that earlier the production of Amla in Alwar was decreasing. But now farmers are liking Amla cultivation.

There are many varieties of Amla
Leelaram Jat told that there are many varieties of Amla. In which there are varieties like Banarasi, Chakaiya, Francis, Krishna, Narendra, Kanchan. However, farmers of Alwar district are growing Chakaiya variety of Amla. It gets ready in the middle of time and its fruits are about 30 grams. He told that from 2005 to 2009 it had reached 1600 hectares in the district. But at that time farmers were not able to get its price. Due to this, farmers kept distance from Amla. After this, by 2021, the area under Amla was reduced to only 30 hectares in the district. However, after Corona, farmers once again tried their hand in gooseberry cultivation. Now gooseberry is being cultivated in 60 hectares in the district. Dhani Ram, a farmer who grows Amla, said that the demand for Amla is high these days.
